Troy Brown and Leon Delaney were stuntmen for Pesci and Stern, respectively. An injury had occurred between Pesci and Culkin during one of the rehearsals for the scene in which Harry tries to bite off Kevin's finger. Pesci said in the People interview, "I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire." Home Alone was initially set to be financed and distributed by Warner Bros. Hughes promised that he could make the movie for less than $10 million, considerably less than most feature film production budgets of that era. Concerned that the film might exceed that amount, Hughes met secretly with 20th Century Fox before production to see if they would fund the project if Warner proved inflexible.
Storyline
In response to Culkin's video, Daniel Stern appeared in a short video reprising his role as Marv, released in conjunction with Stern's Reddit AMA, where he pleads for Harry to return to help protect him against Kevin's traps. The only information on the TV Show was that it centered around Kevin again, and Mr. Prescott was also his butler. In the first episode of the TV Show, Marv returned as the main antagonist along with Vera and plotted to rob the McCallister household to full-fill a goal he and Harry set out to do in the first movie. The producers had also intended for new child characters to be featured and new antagonists, and the children created their own special neighbourhood watch in which they entrapped and captured potential villains trying to rob the houses.
For one sequence, the movie becomes a cat-and-mouse cartoon and a lampoon of home-invasion thrillers. In Polish, the movie is called Kevin sam w domu (meaning "Kevin home alone"). In Poland the film "Home Alone" became a phenomenon and part of the Christmas tradition. Julio Macat, the films cinematographer, considers Home Alone his favorite film out of all the projects he has shot. Naomi Barnwell of Roobla said that "Home Alone has all the ingredients that make for a great kids’ film". Bone Alone is a 2013 film with the exact same plot, but starring a dog instead of a human.
Casting
The Baxter family moves from California to Maine to spend the Christmas season. Finn Baxter and his older sister Alexis are two technophiles who isolate themselves from their parents Curtis and Catherine by spending their days playing “Robo Infantry 3” and using their cell phones respectively. While his family tries to help him from Paris and his mother tries to return to him, Kevin is very happy to have gotten rid of his family, whom he has difficulty supporting and who sometimes puts him aside. Home Alone is not just a classic of holiday season cinema, it is one of the best family franchises ever, well… if you ignore some installments, but that’s not relevant here. John Hughes’ screenplays focusing on Kevin have become a Christmas tradition.

Will there be more Home Alone movies?

In Central Park, Kevin encounters and eventually befriends the pigeon lady, who takes him to Carnegie Hall. She explains how her life collapsed when her lover left her; Kevin encourages her to trust people again. After considering her advice that he perform a good deed to make up for his misdeeds, and recalling Mr. Duncan's intent to donate to the hospital, he decides to prevent Harry and Marv from robbing the store. Home Alone 5 received mainly negative reviews, although it fared better than the previous installment in the series.
To create the illusion that the film was an authentic 1940s gangster film, the scene was filmed on black-and-white negative film, and Johnny's office featured props from that era. Like much of the film, most of the sequence was shot with low, wide angles that, according to journalist Darryn King, "capture the action as if a child were perceiving it". John Candy was available for only one day to film his scenes, which took 23 hours to shoot.
Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House
Still, Home Sweet Home Alone isn’t telling the exact same story as the original film. Disney has revealed that the villains of the new movie will actually be a married couple and that they infiltrate the Mercer home not just for a general robbery, but to steal a valuable family heirloom. It sounds like the Home Alonereboot will have plenty of opportunities for some thematic parallels between the Mercer’s and the intruding family, which could add an extra layer of narrative complexity to an otherwise familiar story.
